We had a drawing course last week at Serenity Retreat. This week we have a painting course. I have been amazed by my guests.
One in particular who has chosen to do the painting course because she's aware that perfectionism is a problem she has and so she wants to do something that she knows she can never be 'perfect' at. How can you be perfect at art when it's so very subjective?
All the people on the drawing and painting courses have completely given themselves over to the process. They support each other, constructively critique each other, cheer each other on and are generally having fun (there may be a little bit of regressing going on as the favourite bit so far has also been the messiest bit.......!).
How marvellous to be surrounded by people who are open to change and to challenging themselves! How privileged I feel to be with this eclectic bunch of people who all have something very special at their hearts - the desire to love life and to live it fully.
I am in awe.
I get to spend my whole summer with people like this. Wow.
