You know what? Writing a blog regularly is just not ME. I don't mind doing the odd bit from time to time but it's just not who I am. I don't have that much to say that's insightful (if anything at all, frankly) and I don't want to drone on and on and bore you all to death just because I read somewhere that writing a blog was a good business idea.
So, I'm not doing it anymore. I am retiring myself from writing this blog.
I have decided to use it for something much more interesting. From now on, I shall link it to other things that I've read, or videos that I've enjoyed or quotes that make me smile or book recommendations from my lovely guests or just great places to go and stay if you're a solo traveller. How much better this feels!
From time to time I may feel compelled to write something, but honestly - there are a million people out there more articulate than me. So, I shall bow out gracefully and let them have this space.
What a relief this is. I feel liberated. No more 'shoulds' going on. This page can be fun at last (at least for me..... ) and I can stop trying to be worthy and grown up. Because I'm just not :-)
So, we start out with a list of books compiled by a guest at our New Year Retreat. We all had our input and this is what we ended up with - what do you think? Any additions?
